On paper, we are a network of twelve college preparatory charter schools in the Denver metro area serving students as young as twelve weeks through twelfth grade.

During the 2024-2025 school year, RMP is driving after five big goals:

  1. 85% Staff Retention
  2. 100% of campuses going green & ECE-2nd grade students growing an average of 1.25 years in math and reading
  3. 100% of seniors accepted into college
  4. 40% of 3rd-8th grade students meet their Accelerated Reader millionaire goal
  5. RMP meets its network enrollment goal


Role Mission

At Rocky Mountain Prep, Physical Education is a vital part of our commitment to educating the whole child. As a Middle School PE Teacher, your mission is to empower students with the knowledge, habits, and confidence to lead healthy, active lives—now and in the future. Through engaging instruction and inclusive practice, you will cultivate a love of movement, build physical literacy, and instill lifelong wellness skills. By fostering perseverance, teamwork, and sportsmanship, you help students develop not only strength and agility, but also self-discipline, empathy, and leadership. Your work supports students’ academic focus, social-emotional development, and overall well-being—equipping them to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.


All Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep will:

  • Own student outcomes by setting high expectations, using data to guide your teaching, maximizing instructional time, re-teaching where needed, and promoting outstanding scholar growth and proficiency. 
  • Take ownership of your professional growth by actively engaging in regular coaching, being open to feedback, and commitment to continuous improvement. 
  • Be consistently punctual and prepared for all lessons, coaching sessions, staff meetings, and other professional obligations (such as PD, parent-teacher conferences, etc).
  • Build a strong, inclusive classroom culture where scholars thrive through proactive routines, culturally responsive structures, and restorative practices that foster belonging.
  • Foster strong relationships with families through consistent communication, home visits, and engagement in school events, embracing each family's unique perspectives and promoting inclusion and diversity
  • Model and embody RMP’s PEAK values (Perseverance, Excellence, Adventure, and Kindness) in all interactions with scholars, families, and staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, special education teachers, and support staff to deliver grade-level content and targeted interventions for all students.
  • Participate in and contribute to school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student and staff recruitment efforts.
  • Support school operations by assisting with daily duties such as arrival, dismissal, and lunch, ensuring a smooth, safe, and organized learning environment.
  • RMP is fast-paced and data-driven. Your role combines clear expectations but also requires flexibility to adapt and contribute to our evolving Concept Essence.

PE Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep will...

  • Design and deliver an engaging physical education curriculum aligned to state standards and student developmental needs, promoting lifelong fitness and wellness.
  • Teach fundamental movement skills, fitness concepts, and sport-specific techniques with a focus on teamwork, safety, and personal growth.
  • Create a joyful and inclusive environment where all students feel successful, challenged, and celebrated—regardless of physical ability or athletic experience.
  • Promote social-emotional learning by integrating opportunities for collaboration, leadership, sportsmanship, and resilience into physical activity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the physical, mental, and emotional health of students, including monitoring progress, celebrating effort, and building strong relationships with families.
 

Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (any subject)

Other Requirements

  • Within the first year of your employment, it’s required to complete CDE READ Act training or CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) -45 contact hours
  • Pass a background check
  • Demonstrate Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Preferred Certifications
 

Compensation and Benefits 

  • Salary: Full-time position with a salary range of $60,000 to $89,000, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Benefits: Includes health insurance (medical, dental, vision), disability insurance, life insurance, PERA retirement, and paid time off.
