Role Mission

Rocky Mountain Prep seeks a mission-aligned Special Education Compliance Manager to ensure the highest standards of compliance and equity for students with disabilities across our network. This role is responsible for monitoring and supporting the implementation of high-quality, compliant IEPs, partnering with district authorizers (DPS), and providing guidance to school-based teams. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of special education law, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to advancing educational access for historically marginalized students. This position plays a critical role in upholding RMP’s PEAK values and ensuring every scholar receives a rigorous and inclusive education.

  • Be consistently punctual and prepared for all lessons, coaching sessions, staff meetings, and other professional obligations (such as PD, parent-teacher conferences, etc).

  • Foster strong relationships with families through consistent communication, home visits, and engagement in school events, embracing each family's unique perspectives and promoting inclusion and diversity.
  • Model and embody RMP’s PEAK values (Perseverance, Excellence, Adventure, and Kindness) in all interactions with scholars, families, and staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, special education teachers, and support staff to deliver grade-level content and targeted interventions for all students.
  • Participate in and contribute to school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student and staff recruitment efforts.
  • Support school operations by assisting with daily duties such as arrival, dismissal, and lunch, ensuring a smooth, safe, and organized learning environment.
  • RMP is fast-paced and data-driven. Your role combines clear expectations but also requires flexibility to adapt and contribute to our evolving Concept Essence.

Special Education Compliance Managers at Rocky Mountain Prep will:

  • Monitor and audit IEP documentation across campuses to ensure alignment with federal, state, and DPS compliance requirements.
  • Support school teams in developing high-quality, legally compliant IEPs, FBAs, and BIPs aligned to student needs and CDE guidance.
  • Oversee and manage compliance processes related to evaluations, re-evaluations, amendments, and procedural safeguards.
  • Partner with district-level special education departments and authorizers to ensure consistent implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records for state reporting requirements, including December Count and Enrich audits.
  • Provide training and guidance to school-based staff on special education policies, documentation standards, and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain compliance tracking systems and calendars to monitor IEP timelines and service delivery.
  • Serve as a key thought partner to the Managing Director of MTSS/Intervention and Director of Exceptional Students in ensuring network-wide compliance and program integrity.
  • Participate in and contribute to special education department meetings, audits, and strategic planning efforts.

Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree (any subject)
  • Knowledge of and experience with Special Education laws, compliance indicators, IEP monitoring and auditing processes, policies, procedures, programming, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of curriculum, supervision, instruction, school-based processes and operations, culture, and community, along with a strong student focus on individualized student needs
  • Strong knowledge of Colorado Academic Standards, methods of ensuring they appear in IEPs and Inclusive Practices for students with disabilities. 

Must possess the following:

  • Current Colorado teaching license with a special education generalist (5-21) and/or special education specialist (5-21) endorsement(s)
  • Special Education teachers must be certified in Colorado. If your license is from another state, you must complete the transfer before the first day of work.

Compensation and Benefits 

  • Salary: Full-time position with a salary range of $65,000 to $95,000, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Benefits: Includes health insurance (medical, dental, vision), disability insurance, life insurance, PERA retirement, and paid time off.
