We are Rocky Mountain Prep, a movement comprised of incredible educators, families, scholars, and advocates who are changing the face of public education in Colorado by democratizing college access and preparation for historically marginalized students and families. On paper, we are a network of twelve college preparatory charter schools in the Denver metro area serving students as young as twelve weeks through twelfth grade.

  1. 85% Staff Retention
  2. 100% of campuses going green & ECE-2nd grade students growing an average of 1.25 years in math and reading
  3. 100% of seniors accepted into college
  4. 40% of 3rd-8th grade students meet their Accelerated Reader millionaire goal
  5. RMP meets its network enrollment goal

Role Mission

Early Childhood at Rocky Mountain Prep creates the foundation that launches scholars and families into their academic careers. The Early Childhood Special Education teacher is the in-house expert on all things ECSE, and serves our community by directly interacting with scholars, as well as building the strength of our MTSS and early childhood special education programs.

All Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep will:

  • Own student outcomes by setting high expectations, using data to guide your teaching, maximizing instructional time, re-teaching where needed, and promoting outstanding scholar growth and proficiency. 
  • Take ownership of your professional growth by actively engaging in regular coaching, being open to feedback, and commitment to continuous improvement. 
  • Be consistently punctual and prepared for all lessons, coaching sessions, staff meetings, and other professional obligations (such as PD, parent-teacher conferences, etc).
  • Build a strong, inclusive classroom culture where scholars thrive through proactive routines, culturally responsive structures, and restorative practices that foster belonging.
  • Foster strong relationships with families through consistent communication, home visits, and engagement in school events, embracing each family's unique perspectives and promoting inclusion and diversity
  • Model and embody RMP’s PEAK values (Perseverance, Excellence, Adventure, and Kindness) in all interactions with scholars, families, and staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, special education teachers, and support staff to deliver grade-level content and targeted interventions for all students.
  • Participate in and contribute to school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student and staff recruitment efforts.
  • Support school operations by assisting with daily duties such as arrival, dismissal, and lunch, ensuring a smooth, safe, and organized learning environment.
  • RMP is fast-paced and data-driven. Your role combines clear expectations but also requires flexibility to adapt and contribute to our evolving Concept Essence.

ECSEs at Rocky Mountain Prep will:

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, school leaders, service providers, and families to ensure that instruction meets the needs of each learner
  • Plan and teach core content around students' IEP goals, providing individualized instruction based on scholar needs. 
  • Support across multiple campuses to meet the needs of scholars.
  • Follow CDE operating procedures of Early Childhood Special Education protocol
  • Analyze and track data regularly to inform instructional needs of scholars 
  • Provides a continuum of evidence-based intervention strategies and services to improve students' access to the general education curriculum.
  • Develops and executes individualized lesson plans 
  • Case manages the IEPs of scholars on the caseload, including FBAs, BIPs
  • Maintains a master schedule to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Implement scholar individualized accommodations & modifications across school environments
  • Collaborate and communicate with home (including parent-teacher conferences) to ensure growth and consistency with IEP goals 
  • Demonstrate ability to write quality IEPs and Evaluations, including robust summaries of strengths/needs, goals, and benchmarks based on assessments and needs.
  • Support scholars in meeting their annual IEP goals
  • Complete student progress reports in alignment with student IEP calendar
  • Serve as the resource for MTSS best practices across 4 ECE campuses 
  • Collaborate with leadership across network levels to develop expertise in ECE MTSS 

Qualifications

Required:

Education Requirements: (review requirements by CDE)

  • Masters in Special-Education - Early Childhood 

Must possess the following:

  • Current Colorado teaching license with a special education - ECE 
  • Special Education teachers must be certified in Colorado.  If your license is from another state, you will need to have the transfer complete before the first day of school.
  • Pass a background check
  • Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States

Preferred:

  • Minimum two years of lead teaching experience. 
  • History of working with a special needs populations within early childhood
  • History of case management 
  • CPI/NCI Trained 


 

Compensation and Benefits 

  • Salary: Full-time position with a salary range of $60,000 to $89,000, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Benefits: Includes health insurance (medical, dental, vision), disability insurance, life insurance, PERA retirement, and paid time off.
