Our Approach to Behavior Intervention
At Rocky Mountain Prep, we believe behavior is a form of communication, and every scholar deserves a safe, joyful, and inclusive learning environment. Behavior Interventionists partner with teachers, families, and student support teams to build strong relationships, teach social-emotional and replacement skills, and implement proactive, data-informed supports. Through restorative practices and high expectations, they help every scholar develop the skills needed to thrive academically and personally.
Behavior Interventionists at Rocky Mountain Prep will...
- Build trusting relationships with scholars, families, and staff to foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive school culture.
- Provide proactive and responsive behavior intervention by implementing behavior support plans, facilitating restorative conversations, and teaching replacement skills.
- Partner with teachers to strengthen classroom culture through coaching, modeling, and collaborative problem-solving around student behavior.
- Monitor, analyze, and use behavior data to identify trends, measure intervention effectiveness, and inform next steps within the MTSS framework.
- Lead individual and small-group social-emotional learning and character development opportunities using research-based practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including school leadership, special education, mental health providers, and families—to develop and implement comprehensive student support plans.
- Respond to behavior incidents with consistency, professionalism, and a commitment to preserving scholar dignity while maintaining a safe learning environment.
- Champion Rocky Mountain Prep's culture of Rigor and Love by helping every scholar develop the skills needed to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
All Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep will:
Take ownership of student outcomes by setting high expectations, using data to guide instruction, and ensuring all scholars grow through strong planning, rigorous teaching, and timely re-teaching. They build inclusive, relationship-centered classrooms by implementing proactive routines, culturally responsive practices, and consistent communication with families. RMP teachers collaborate closely with colleagues and support staff, contribute to school-wide initiatives, and support daily operations to maintain a safe and organized environment. They also model RMP’s PEAK values in all interactions and remain flexible and responsive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment aligned to our evolving Concept Essence.
Qualifications
Required:
- Passion for Rocky Mountain Prep's mission and a deep commitment to ensuring all scholars thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
- At least one year of experience supporting student behavior in a school setting, which may include classroom teaching experience.
- Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with scholars, families, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational, time management, and self-management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- We use E-Verify to confirm the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires.
Preferred:
- Special education experience and/or certification.
Salary
This is a full-time position with a salary range of $61,000 to $71,000, based on experience and qualifications.
