About Rocky Mountain Prep

Rocky Mountain Prep (RMP) is a growing network of innovative public charter schools, serving students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade in the Greater Denver Area. RMP opened its first school in 2012 with 130 students and has grown to twelve schools, working with over 5,000 scholars across two districts. Who We Seek:

We seek an Athletic Director who is interested in developing students into outstanding human beings in their academic and personal lives by role modeling our culture of Rigor and Love.  They will work collaboratively with their teammates and seek feedback, coaching, and mentorship from their school leadership  team and school community, and will assist each student in their school community to achieve acceptance into the 4-year college or university of their choice.

 In this role as Athletic Director,  you will…

 

 Athletics Programming::

  • Develop, plan and coordinate all athletic programming for RMP - RISE and the Regis Groff Athletic Cooperative.
  • Generate and coordinate all game schedules, reports, and update scores.
  • Collaborate with other administrators to identify program areas to support RISE students. 
  • Plan and coordinate all transportation, budgets, bookkeeping, and scheduling to ensure proper game coverage. 
  • Oversee the smooth operation of all programs on a daily basis and ensure that any issues are handled appropriately and communicated effectively.
  • Ensure that all program activities and athletic staff are trained in health and safety policies as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and security to establish fluid communication between day and after-school athletic programs.
  • Establish and maintain consistent quality for all athletic programs. 
  • Review and evaluate each program to ensure that the programs meet RMP, CHSAA, and NCAA Eligibility Center expectations.
  • Provide timely and accurate updates to administrators and teachers on eligibility requirements for student athletes throughout the academic year.
 

       School Culture:

  • Communicate regularly and often with families to both solicit input and share student social and academic progress, while empowering teachers to do the same.
  • Collaborate to establish and maintain systems and routines to create a safe, purposeful, and welcoming classroom environment focused on learning.
  • Attend students’ lunch time 1-3 times per week in order to build relationships outside of the learning environment.
  • Provide supervision of students during before and after school activities as related to athletic programming.  
  • Participate in family and community events, including twice annual parent conferences, student enrollment events and other activities.
  • Own the success and achievement of all scholars in the school. 
 

Leadership:

  • Participate as a member of the campus leadership team.  
  • Commit to constant growth, reflection, and implementation as educators and professionals through regular coaching and professional development.
  • Attend and participate in weekly staff and grade level meetings.
 

Additional:

  • Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Crisis Management Team.
  • Manage activities and clubs.
  • Manage and support special events, such as pep rallies.
  • Other assigned roles and duties.
 

Qualifications:

 

Required

  • Has at least 3 years of teaching, coaching  or other relevant leadership experience 
  • Holds a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Has experience as a school administrator

Preferred:

  • Holds a master’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Experience in Title I schools 
 

Salary 

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with a salary range of $85,000- $120,000.
