Middle School STEM Elective Teacher (25/26 School Year)
We are Rocky Mountain Prep, a movement comprised of incredible educators, families, scholars, and advocates who are changing the face of public education in Colorado by democratizing college access and preparation for historically marginalized students and families. On paper, we are a network of twelve college preparatory charter schools in the Denver metro area serving students as young as twelve weeks through twelfth grade.

During the 2024-2025 school year, RMP is driving after five big goals:
- 85% Staff Retention
- 100% of campuses going green & ECE-2nd grade students growing an average of 1.25 years in math and reading
- 100% of seniors accepted into college
- 40% of 3rd-8th grade students meet their Accelerated Reader millionaire goal
- RMP meets its network enrollment goal
Role Mission
As the middle school STEM teacher, our mission is to ignite curiosity and equip students with the critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative skills necessary to innovate and lead in an ever-evolving world. We believe in the power of STEM to inspire discovery and create meaningful solutions to real-world challenges. By fostering a passion for inquiry, exploration, and perseverance, we prepare our students to be confident thinkers and creators, ready to navigate the complexities of the modern world with knowledge, empathy, and purpose.
All Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep will:
- Own student outcomes by setting high expectations, using data to guide your teaching, maximizing instructional time, re-teaching where needed, and promoting outstanding scholar growth and proficiency.
- Take ownership of your professional growth by actively engaging in regular coaching, being open to feedback, and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Be consistently punctual and prepared for all lessons, coaching sessions, staff meetings, and other professional obligations (such as PD, parent-teacher conferences, etc).
- Build a strong, inclusive classroom culture where scholars thrive through proactive routines, culturally responsive structures, and restorative practices that foster belonging.
- Foster strong relationships with families through consistent communication, home visits, and engagement in school events, embracing each family's unique perspectives and promoting inclusion and diversity
- Model and embody RMP’s PEAK values (Perseverance, Excellence, Adventure, and Kindness) in all interactions with scholars, families, and staff.
- Collaborate with colleagues, special education teachers, and support staff to deliver grade-level content and targeted interventions for all students.
- Participate in and contribute to school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student and staff recruitment efforts.
- Support school operations by assisting with daily duties such as arrival, dismissal, and lunch, ensuring a smooth, safe, and organized learning environment.
- RMP is fast-paced and data-driven. Your role combines clear expectations but also requires flexibility to adapt and contribute to our evolving Concept Essence.
STEM Elective Teachers at Rocky Mountain Prep will:
- Foster a culture of inquiry and innovation by designing lessons that spark curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and engage students in exploring real-world problems.
- Deliver rigorous, culturally responsive instruction across science, technology, engineering, and math that both challenges and supports all learners.
- Facilitate hands-on, project-based learning experiences where students apply STEM concepts through experimentation, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Model and guide students through the engineering design process to cultivate resilience, iteration, and solution-oriented mindsets.
- Integrate technology intentionally—including coding, data analysis, and digital research tools—to deepen learning and prepare students for future-ready skills.
- Use data strategically to track student progress, provide targeted interventions, and ensure every scholar is on a path toward mastery.
- Create an inclusive and equitable classroom where all students—particularly those historically underrepresented in STEM—feel seen, valued, and empowered to lead.
- Engage in continuous professional learning, collaboration, and instructional planning to grow as STEM educators and align vertically and horizontally across the network.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree (any subject)
Other Requirements
- Within the first year of your employment, it’s required to complete CDE READ Act training or CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) -45 contact hours
- Pass a background check
- Demonstrate Eligibility to work in the United States
- Preferred Certifications
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: Full-time position with a salary range of $60,000 to $89,000, based on experience and qualifications.
- Benefits: Includes health insurance (medical, dental, vision), disability insurance, life insurance, PERA retirement, and paid time off.
